Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate brings a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for animal care. In this role, you will support our veterinarians and technicians in delivering exceptional patient care while helping maintain efficient daily operations throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, and treatments.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests, including bloodwork and urinalysis.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments.
  • Monitor patients during anesthesia, surgery, and recovery.
  • Educate clients on pet care, nutrition, post-treatment instructions, and preventive health.
  • Accurately document medical information in patient records.
  • Take and process radiographs and other diagnostic images.
  • Assist with dental cleanings, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical prep.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment by following all hospital protocols and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital preferred (but we will train the right candidate).
  • Comfortable handling animals of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and able to support clients during stressful situations.
  • Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with veterinary practice software is a plus.

Schedule

This position follows a four-day, 10-hour schedule with no weekend shifts. You'll enjoy a consistent full-time schedule and a healthy work–life balance with three days off each week.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
