About This Job

This ENTRY-LEVEL Electrical Engineer position offers a fantastic opportunity to launch your career within our growing organization.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic, ENTRY LEVEL engineer to join our team. In this role you will be the "technical face" on projects and will be working with clients to design custom (low & medium voltage) switchgear & control solutions to meet their technical specifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interpret project write-ups, customer specifications, drawings, and correspondence
  • Research & create Bill of Material
  • Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to specify & approve component parts and assemblies
  • Create AC and DC schematics, component layouts, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams for project submittals, construction drawings and As-built's
  • Complete project design to match customer specifications
  • Ensure design complies with applicable codes, NFPA, NEC, and UL (UL891, UL1558, UL Medium Voltage & UL508A)
  • Coordinate with production, testing and field service to make design decisions at each stage of the project
  • Coordinate with programmers for hardware selection and integration
  • Research and learn what new technology is available & applicable for projects
  • Establish and document standard design processes
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and test
  • Complete design reviews to check accuracy and completeness of designs
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
Experience
  • Entry-level position: prior internship experience is a plus but not required.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Proficient understanding of electrical circuit design principles.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Familiarity with the NEC Code (National Electrical Code).
  • Basic understanding of power systems analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with switchgear design or implementation.
  • Familiarity with project management fundamentals.
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
  • Ability to work in an office environment.
  • May occasionally require work at construction sites (with appropriate safety precautions).
  • Manufacturing shop environment
  • Sit for long periods of time, talking, seeing, primarily sedentary work in an office with desk with chair, long periods of use of computer mouse and long periods of looking at monitors and drawings.
