Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tow Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge, along with excellent customer service skills. As a Tow Truck Operator, you will be responsible for safely transporting vehicles, providing roadside assistance, and ensuring customer satisfaction during every interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to transport vehicles safely.
  • Perform automotive diagnostics and minor repairs as needed to ensure vehicles are roadworthy before towing.
  • Load and unload vehicles with care, adhering to safety protocols to prevent damage.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and managing conflicts effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed, including vehicle condition and any repairs made.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on tow trucks to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
  • Utilize manual transmission skills when operating certain tow truck models.
  • Assist in training new staff members on towing procedures and equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in automotive repair and mechanic roles is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and mechanical systems.
  • Valid commercial driving license (CDL) is required.
  • Experience operating forklifts is a plus.
  • Ability to manage conflicts with customers calmly and professionally.
  • Excellent driving record with the ability to navigate various road conditions safely.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
