The ideal candidate will combine financial expertise with strong proficiency in data visualization, reporting automation, and analytics, bringing efficiency and clarity to complex financial environments.

Essential Functions

Billing & Revenue Optimization

  • Prepare and analyze invoices for accuracy and compliance with government contract terms and agency requirements.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Use data analytics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities across projects.
  • Build interactive dashboards that track contract profitability, budget variances, and billing timelines in real time.
  • Automate recurring financial reporting tasks to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
  • Conduct variance analysis and present actionable insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making.

Compliance & Controls

  • Maintain detailed financial documentation to support audits and government reviews.
  • Monitor internal controls to safeguard against over/underbilling and ensure compliance with FAR, DCAA, and contract requirements.
  • Leverage data-driven controls to detect anomalies or compliance gaps early and propose corrective measures.
  • Assist in standardizing audit preparation and documentation through automated data collection tools.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with contracts, compliance, payroll, and accounting teams to streamline financial workflows and reporting processes.
  • Partner with IT and operations to integrate data from multiple systems into unified reporting dashboards.
  • Provide leadership with data-backed financial insights that support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Train operations and support staff on using financial dashboards, analytics tools, and billing compliance systems.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or Business Administration
  • 3–5 years of experience as a financial analyst or similar role, preferably within government contracting or a regulated industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DCAA audit requirements, and government invoicing platforms.
  • Proficiency in Excel (Power Query, PivotTables, advanced formulas, and macros), Smartsheet, and Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Experience implementing automated financial processes or integrating data from multiple sources.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or Smartsheet dashboards.
  • Ability to automate financial workflows and improve operational efficiency.
