POSITION SUMMARY

The Head Coach will direct all aspects of the women's volleyball program including, but not limited to, recruiting, scheduling, practice and game management, budget management, fundraising, compliance with NAIA, Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference and University rules, and promoting the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the women's volleyball team, including coaching staff, studentathletes, and support personnel.
  • Set clear expectations, roles, and responsibilities for coaching staff and studentathletes.
  • Develop and teach volleyball techniques, strategies, and tactics to the team.
  • Plan and implement effective training regimens and practice sessions.
  • Coach and mentor studentathletes, focusing on technique, conditioning, and mental preparation.
  • Provide individual and group instruction to improve performance.
  • Plan and organize practices, drills, and training sessions.
  • Focus on player conditioning, skill development, and teamwork during practices.
  • Recruit and evaluate prospective studentathletes for the women's volleyball program.
  • Monitor academic progress and personal development of studentathletes.
  • Promote academic success among studentathletes, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Collaborate with academic support services to provide resources and support.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant volleyball rules, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of necessary compliance reports.
  • Lead the team during volleyball matches, making strategic decisions and offering support.
  • Foster a positive and disciplined team culture based on integrity, sportsmanship, and respect.
  • Enforce team rules and discipline when necessary.
  • Manage the women's volleyball program's budget, including travel, equipment, and other expenses.
  • Ensure responsible financial management and compliance with budgetary constraints.
Qualifications:
  • Collegiate volleyball and/or coaching experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree, required. Master degree, preferred. NAIA and/or private, valuebased University experience preferred.
  • Irregular work hours such as weekends, holidays, and evenings are to be expected.
  • Multilingual skills highly preferred.
  • Ability to contribute to a climate that supports a diverse student body, serves firstgeneration college students, multilingual learners, and contributions to equity and social justice through their work.
