Shape better medicines by keeping our instruments true

At Adare, every precise reading and reliable control loop helps us deliver therapies that improve lives. As a Metrology Calibration Technologist on our Engineering team in Vandalia, OH, you'll ensure the instruments powering our Operations and R&D perform to metrology standards—day in and day out.

A day in your role

By 8:30 a.m., you've reviewed the Blue Mountain Calman schedule (or similar platform) and prioritized calibrations across manufacturing and development suites. Before lunch, you've executed several in-house calibrations against traceable standards, documented results, and addressed a drift you spotted during troubleshooting. In the afternoon, you collaborate with the Sr. Calibration Technician on an SOP update, log a change control with an instrument report for a failed component, and order the parts to complete the repair. You wrap up by tidying the calibration lab and confirming tomorrow's work with an external metrology contractor.

What you'll do
  • Plan, schedule, perform, and document calibrations through Blue Mountain Calman (or equivalent).
  • Calibrate Operations and R&D instruments using in-house standards per the Calman plan or when instrumentation indicates the need.
  • Troubleshoot out-of-tolerance devices; repair and procure parts/tools as needed.
  • Maintain complete calibration histories and author instrument reports, failed-part records, and change controls.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the calibration program and related SOPs; develop or revise procedures under the guidance of the Sr. Calibration Technician or Process Engineer.
  • Maintain an orderly, safe calibration laboratory; attend Safety, GMP, and technical trainings.
  • Partner with internal Engineering/Controls and external metrology vendors to meet schedules and quality expectations.
  • Support special projects assigned by the Associate Director, Engineering or Sr. Calibration Technician.
What you bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent (trade/technical certification a plus).
  • 5+ years working with industrial equipment, instrumentation, and plant operations—ideally in pharma, chemical, or dairy environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of materials, tools, and measurement devices used in a calibration lab.
  • Comfort with PCs and Microsoft Office; experience with calibration management software.
  • Fundamentals across electricity, pneumatics, hydraulics, and instrumentation for temperature, pressure, humidity, oxygen analysis, flow, RPM, time, level, and conductivity.
  • PLC familiarity is a plus.
