Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) with 6+ years of experience designing electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm/systems for a wide range of building types. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and institutional facilities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, the ability to lead multidisciplinary design efforts, and a commitment to creating efficient, code-compliant electrical systems.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical system designs for medium to large-scale building projects, including load calculations, layout, equipment selection, and system coordination.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of power distribution, grounding, lighting systems, controls, and fire/life safety systems.
  • Analyze complex engineering challenges and provide practical, technically sound solutions.
  • Coordinate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and construction project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review design deliverables for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Prepare drawings, technical documentation, and specifications using industry-standard design tools.
  • Participate in project meetings and client discussions, offering technical guidance as needed.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Complete additional engineering tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Deep knowledge of electrical engineering principles and applicable building, energy, and electrical codes.
  • Experience leading electrical design components on complex, multi-discipline building projects.
  • Proficiency with electrical engineering software such as SKM, lighting and photometric design programs, and current versions of AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, specifications, design narratives, and professional correspondence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Capable of occasional travel (up to 10%) for site visits or project coordination.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of electrical building systems design experience.
Licensure
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Role involves both office and occasional field work, including exposure to outdoor conditions during site visits.
  • Frequent computer-based work is required.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
