Senior Business Analyst (Contract-to-Hire)
Our client is seeking an experienced
Senior Business Analyst
for a
contract-to-hire
opportunity to support large-scale IT and infrastructure initiatives within a construction-focused environment. This role will partner closely with business leadership, IT teams, and third-party vendors to define scope, build requirements, create executive-level dashboards, and support budgeting and cost analysis for complex integration and infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable presenting to senior management, and has hands-on experience working across multiple teams in fast-paced, Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Business, IT, Finance, Construction Operations) to gather, define, and document business and technical requirements
- Lead scope definition, requirements documentation, and change management for complex IT infrastructure and integration initiatives
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to provide visibility into project performance, financials, and timelines
- Prepare and present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
- Support budget development, cost estimation, forecasting, and variance analysis for projects
- Apply working knowledge of accounting principles (capitalization, expense vs. capex, cost allocation, etc.) to project planning and reporting
- Collaborate closely with internal IT integration teams and external auxiliary service vendors
- Support execution of heavy IT infrastructure projects within construction or field-based environments
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews) and ensure requirements are clearly defined and prioritized
- Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps; proactively recommend mitigation strategies
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, in IT, infrastructure, construction-related environments
- Proven experience working with multiple teams and stakeholders across business and IT
- Strong expertise in dashboard creation, data visualization, and executive reporting
- Demonstrated experience presenting to senior management and executive audiences
- Hands-on experience building scope, business requirements, and budgetary cost estimates
- Solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting concepts related to projects
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Strong experience engaging with IT integration teams and third-party service vendors
- Background supporting or executing heavy IT infrastructure projects in a construction or similar environment
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools
- Accounting rules
