Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable individual with extensive experience with heavy equipment and landscape machinery to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining our fleet of landscaping and construction equipment, as well as our mulch grinder and topsoil processing equipment, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair heavy equipment used in landscape construction and maintenance.
  • Oversee shop operations, including inventory management and scheduling
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, diesel and gas-powered systems
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure equipment readiness.
  • Maintain safety standards within the shop environment
  • Manage parts procurement and record keeping for all repairs

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (5 years or more) as a heavy equipment mechanic or similar role within the landscaping or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems and power tools, snow plows and salt spreaders
  • Ability to read manuals, schematics, diagnostic data and troubleshoot mechanical problems
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing shop operations.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL a plus)
  • Welding and fabrication skills a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend and work in confined spaces
