Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, with a particular emphasis on quantum engineering. This role involves the designs and oversees the safe sealing of decommissioned oil and gas wells to prevent future environmental hazards and ensure regulatory compliance. They analyze well data, plan complex operations, specify complex problems. The Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and contribute to the advancement of our technological capabilities.

Duties

  • Analyze historical well data to develop strategies for permanently plugging and abandoning wells, ensuring they are sealed to prevent leaks.
  • Ensure all operations comply with local, national, and international environmental and safety regulations, which are often stricter for abandonment than for well construction.
  • Experts in well integrity and cementing techniques, specifying materials and methods for creating robust, permanent seals within the wellbore.
  • Support field operations, review daily reports, track costs, and manage any changes that arise during the abandonment process.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of quantum mechanics and its applications in engineering.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards is vital for successful and safe well decommissioning.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills are needed to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and complex operations.
  • Effective communication is vital for liaising with regulators, clients, and field teams.
  • Expertise in well integrity, cementing, and using industry-specific software and equipment is crucial.
