Position Summary:

The Underground Boring Helper supports the Underground Boring Team in installing underground conduit and electrical systems using trenchless technology. This role is essential for preparing job sites, operating equipment under supervision, and ensuring safety and efficiency during directional boring operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setup and cleanup of boring equipment and job sites
  • Hand dig potholes to locate existing utilities
  • Help load/unload tools, materials, and equipment
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery under supervision
  • Monitor drill path and communicate with operators during bore operations
  • Pull back conduit or cable once bore path is complete
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
  • Assist with restoration of disturbed surfaces (sod, asphalt, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • At least 19 years old
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform physical labor
  • Willingness to work overtime or occasional weekends
  • Must be a team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Previous experience in construction, boring, or utility work is a plus but not required
