Position Overview

Based in Lake Forest CA, this unique, hands-on role blends corporate IT support with the fast-paced world of live event technology. You will be part of a small, highly collaborative team supporting both our internal technology ecosystem and the AV/IT infrastructure behind large-scale live events.

We are seeking an individual with a solid foundation in IT support, including experience troubleshooting common issues and working with IP networks. From setting up new hires to supporting live streams and event networks, this role provides an opportunity to apply existing knowledge while learning specialized AV systems and large-scale event operations.

No two weeks are the same: one day you might be configuring laptops or resolving Wi-Fi issues, and the next you could be traveling to provide onsite support for an event.

Clarity's IT Support Streaming Records Specialists are responsible for managing all aspects of streaming and recording for events. Our Specialists serve as a key point of contact for technical support related to streaming and recording, partnering with producers and account executives to understand the client's vision and develop a plan to achieve it. The role requires strong organizational and pre-planning skills, comprehensive knowledge of streaming and recording technologies, and the ability to troubleshoot and manage technical challenges. Our Specialists will travel to different cities across North America. The live events industry is seasonal; as a Clarity IT Specialist, you will experience periods of high demand and others that are more relaxed. The Specialist role requires proficiency in virtual event technologies and the ability to understand software and systems that operate in remote and virtual environments. The position also provides IT support for our team members, including setting up new computers, troubleshooting daily software and hardware issues, and offering general IT technical support.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with real IT experience, perhaps from a helpdesk, internal support team, or a hands-on technical role. You should be comfortable with IP networking basics, familiar with common business software, and enjoy troubleshooting problems until they are resolved.

You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively with diverse individuals, and remain composed in fast-paced environments. You enjoy exploring new technologies and learning on the fly, especially when it involves new areas like AV systems or live events.

This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is ready to step into a broader technical environment that encompasses both traditional IT and the unique challenges of large live event AV production.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate IT Support & Troubleshooting (≈ 40%)

• Serve as a primary support contact for approximately 70 users, troubleshooting laptops, software, networking, and connectivity issues.
• Set up and configure laptops, accounts, and tools for new hires; support offboarding for departing employees.
• Manage and troubleshoot common software platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Adobe Suite, HubSpot, QuickBooks, and Shopify.
• Provide clear, friendly technical guidance to teammates at all skill levels.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT team members as needed, while documenting solutions for future use.

Event AV & IT Support (≈ 40%)

• Support the setup and operation of AV and IT systems at live events, including projectors, audio equipment, network switches, and wireless systems.
• Assist with configuring and monitoring event networks, including IP-based AV systems and Dante audio.
• Work alongside senior staff and freelance AV professionals to deliver reliable, high-quality live event experiences.
• Help set up and monitor live streaming and recording systems, ensuring smooth technical operations during shows.
• Manage equipment checklists, assist with inventory tracking, and support onsite logistics.

Specialized training provided: You will build on your IT foundation to learn AV signal flows, Dante systems, live streaming workflows, and production IT through hands-on work and structured mentorship.

Project Support & Coordination (≈ 20%)

• Assist with technical pre-production for major events, including gathering network requirements, preparing documentation, and supporting planning calls.
• Update equipment lists, network diagrams, and technical specifications under guidance from senior staff.
• Support the sales and production teams by providing technical details for event proposals.
• Gain exposure to advanced topics such as cellular networking, custom event applications, and integrated AV systems.

Technical Knowledge:
