Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Customer Service Representative to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional customer support, handling transactions efficiently, and promoting products through upselling and product demos. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced grocery store environment. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries
  • Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cashiering and cash handling
  • Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items
  • Upsell products to enhance customer shopping experience and increase sales
  • Manage merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing displays
  • Ensure the store is well-maintained with proper signage and organized merchandise
  • Provide excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
  • Supervise or assist in supervising team members as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of store promotions, product locations, and inventory levels
  • Support overall store operations including retail math calculations for sales and stock management

Requirements

  • Prior experience in retail sales, customer service, or grocery store environments preferred
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for transactions and stock management
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and perform cashiering duties
  • Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demos is a plus
  • Supervising experience is advantageous but not required
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to assist a diverse customer base
  • Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining excellent customer service standards
  • Basic understanding of retail math for sales tracking and inventory control
