About Us
Emmanuel Family & Child Development Center is a mission-driven early childhood center serving children and families in Kansas City. Our AmeriCorps program provides critical classroom and student support, and our Pre-K programs prepare young learners for long-term academic success. We are hiring a full-time Recruiter to strengthen two essential pipelines—AmeriCorps Members and Pre-K enrollments—through strategic outreach, relationship building, and community engagement.
Job Summary
The Recruiter will split time between two key functions:
AmeriCorps Member Recruitment
Pre-K Family Recruitment
The role requires strong communication skills, consistent follow-through, and the ability to represent Emmanuel at community events, schools, colleges, and partner organizations. This position works closely with both the AmeriCorps Program Director and the Pre-K Program Director to ensure recruitment goals are met.
Local travel across Kansas City is required.
Responsibilities
AmeriCorps Recruitment (50%)
Working directly with the AmeriCorps Program Director
Conduct proactive outreach at high schools, colleges, community centers, and job fairs to recruit AmeriCorps Members.
Partner with university career offices, professors, counselors, youth programs, and community groups.
Manage the full AmeriCorps recruitment funnel: sourcing, initial screening, scheduling interviews, and maintaining communication with prospects.
Create and share recruitment content such as flyers, social media posts, and digital messages to promote service opportunities.
Provide weekly recruitment updates to the AmeriCorps Program Director and maintain accurate data tracking.
Pre-K Enrollment Recruitment (50%)
Working directly with the Pre-K Program Director
Serve as the point of contact for prospective families seeking Pre-K placement.
Conduct phone outreach, follow up on leads, schedule tours, and guide families through the enrollment process.
Attend community events, resource fairs, and partner meetings to promote open Pre-K seats.
Develop referral relationships with shelters, churches, nonprofits, and neighborhood partners.
Keep detailed enrollment records, reports, and waitlist updates in coordination with the Pre-K Program Director.
Marketing & Social Media Support (Preferred)
Collaborating with both Program Directors and Administrative Leadership
Assist with social media posting and campaign support for recruitment and enrollment.
Help design flyers, graphics, and promotional materials for events and openings.
Support creation of messaging to increase visibility of AmeriCorps roles and Pre-K availability.
Ensure all outreach materials align with Emmanuel's brand and mission
Qualifications
High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience in recruiting, outreach, community engagement, admissions, or sales is preferred.
Social media, marketing, or communications experience strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging diverse audiences.
Ability to manage multiple recruitment pipelines and deadlines.
Proficiency in Google Workspace/Microsoft Office.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required (local travel is essential).
Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends for recruitment events.
Must be able to pass a Federal/State fingerprint background check.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday
Occasional evenings/weekends for events
Travel required around Kansas City (reimbursement available if applicable)
