We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory care requirements.
- Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, wound dressing changes, phlebotomy procedures, and aseptic techniques.
- Support patient transfer and positioning using proper techniques to prevent injury and promote comfort.
- Maintain detailed medical records and documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in diverse settings such as hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or home care environments.
- Engage in patient service activities that promote safety and well-being across acute care, post-acute care, behavioral health, pediatric, geriatrics, or hospice contexts.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Cerner efficiently to document patient information accurately.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques during all patient interactions.
- Support emergency response efforts by assisting during urgent care situations or Level I Trauma Center scenarios.
- Demonstrate physiology knowledge and anatomy familiarity to assist with complex patient needs effectively.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent licensure required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including seniors, children, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care.
- Prior experience in medical-surgical units, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency medicine, or hospital medicine is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care delivery.
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and support medication administration following prescribed protocols.
- Experience with specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
