Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician to join our steel products manufacturing team at PW Athletics. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of production equipment as well as performing general building and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, large-scale manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment & Machinery Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment including presses, benders, welders, rollers, CNC machinery, pallet wrappers, and material-handling systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using proper test equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
- Complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime and support continuous production.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair histories, and PM (Preventive Maintenance) checklists.
Facility & Building Maintenance
- Conduct general building repairs including lighting, HVAC support, plumbing, doors, docks, yard equipment, and structural components.
- Support maintenance of facility infrastructure in a 140,000 sq. ft. plant, including overhead cranes, compressors, ventilation systems, and emergency/safety equipment.
- Assist with facility upgrades, installations, and layout changes.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA, company safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and hazard reporting standards.
- Participate in safety inspections and contribute to a strong safety culture.
- Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and hazard-free.
General Support
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify maintenance needs and improvement opportunities.
- Assist contractors or vendors on projects as needed.
- Maintain proper inventory of tools, spare parts, and supplies.
- Qualifications
Required
- 3–5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, and industrial controls.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work across large facility spaces and at heights when necessary.
- Basic welding, fabrication, and machining skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and self-directed work ethic.
Preferred
- Experience in steel fabrication or metal products manufacturing.
- Familiarity with CNC equipment and PLC-based systems.
- HVAC or electrical certification is a plus.
- Forklift and scissor-lift certifications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Stand, walk, climb, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures typical of industrial and warehouse spaces.

Pay: $ $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
