PCI is seeking a Director of Sustainability Projects to help lead and scale our global ESG team, projects, and programs. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we partner with customers, engage internal stakeholders, and drive business value through sustainability.

In this high-impact role, you will serve as a strategic partner to customers and other stakeholder groups helping to manage complex requests and set a strategy and a plan for proactive partnership. Collaborate closely with our procurement and operations teams to drive innovative solutions that reduce our environmental impact, improve supplier performance, and enhance the sustainability of our business practices.

This position is critical to our ESG success and well-suited for a customer-centric, solutions-oriented leader ready to take sustainability programming to the next level.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Customer Engagement

  • Along with Senior Sustainability leaders, you will act as a primary point of contact for ESG requests from customers, deliver roadmaps and program updates, share strategy and progress with tailored, high-quality responses to sustainability questionnaires, RFPs, RFIs, audits, and scorecards.
  • Drive customer sustainability and strategy projects. Build strategic relationships with customers' key sustainability points of contact and identify opportunities for value-added collaboration, understanding the links between their programs and goals, PCI's and those of the global frameworks in which we participate.
  • Anticipate and analyze trends in customer and stakeholder requests to develop processes and resources that enhance PCI's readiness, credibility, and transparency.

ESG Program Development

  • Drive internal and external stakeholder engagement and support the development of environmental and social impact categories, Earth Month, and proactively support site-level progress to achieve targets.
  • Partner with third parties to manage multiple projects, timelines, and workstreams while identifying opportunities for improvement and collaboration.
  • Support life cycle assessments and sustainable packaging initiatives to inform decision making and identify high-impact emissions reduction opportunities.

Data Strategy & Reporting Enablement

  • Partner with Sr. Sustainability Analyst to build ESG Response Library for Estimating, Proposals and BD ready with real time access.
  • Lead the collection and consolidation of ESG data for annual reporting, questionnaires, ad hoc disclosures, and customer requests.
  • Manage ESG reporting through external platforms including but not limited to Proof, M2030, EcoVadis, CDP, SBTi, etc.
  • Help streamline and enhance PCI's data collection process to ensure accurate and timely reporting while scaling engagement.

Training, Governance & Framework Development

  • Design and implement training and drive PCI's annual Earth Month celebration to elevate internal awareness, increase adoption of best practices, and build employee engagement and customer trust.
  • Drive the development of internal ESG policies, toolkits, and governance frameworks aligned with global sustainability targets, in collaboration with Senior Sustainability Leaders, Legal, Procurement, Operations, EHS, HR, and other functions.

Communications & Branding

  • Serve as brand steward to elevate PCI's sustainability messaging to stakeholders.
  • Partner with Business Development and Marketing to produce effective ESG resources for customers and employees.
  • Work with PCI's Business Development and Marketing teams to ensure sustainability alignment, knowledge and collaboration on customer messaging.
  • Develop and manage an ESG Response library that enhances partnership with Business Development and proactively anticipates customer requests.
  • Support ESG storytelling, slide design, templates, program development and engagement across presentations, reports, and events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in sustainability, sustainability consulting, B2B customer engagement or strategic business development or operations role within a corporate setting of a similar industry.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage high-stake customer relationships and proactively deliver on complex requests with accuracy and impact.
  • Interest, commitment and ability to achieve fast and continuous knowledge on a high learning curve regarding global sustainability frameworks, legislation, trends, and more.
  • General understanding of ESG strategy, regulatory trends, and emerging stakeholder expectations.
  • If currently a PCI employee, must have a deep understanding of PCI's current ESG strategy, public facing commitments and involvement in current Impact Category team as an impact champion or task force member.
  • Strong communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated adaptability in task prioritization and project execution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ESG reporting platforms, SmartSheet, PowerBI, and dashboards are a plus.
