Decision Technologies seeks a qualified Miniature/Microminiature (2M) Electronics Repair Technician to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA.   

Position Description: 

The candidate will perform Miniature/Microminiature (2M) and Module Test and Repair (MTR) on a variety of electronic systems and components, including circuit card assemblies, cable assemblies, and electronic modules from shipboard, airborne, and ground-based platforms. Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting using diagnostic tools such as the Huntron Dual Head Prober, fabricating fiber optic and copper cable assemblies, and documenting repair actions and recommendations. While current support includes systems such as the AN/BPS-15, AN/BPS-16, AN/SPS-48, AN/SPS-67, AN/SPS-73, AN/SPS-80, and BridgeMaster-E (BME), candidates with experience in other radar, avionics, or military/industrial electronic systems are encouraged to apply. Work will be performed primarily in a lab environment, with occasional assignments onboard ships, submarines, or at land-based radar and test sites.

MUST HAVE SECRET CLEARANCE

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform 2M repairs of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs).
• Troubleshoot multi-layer circuit boards using a Module Test and Repair (MTR) Gold Disk program.
• Build/fabricate cables with multipin copper connector and fiber optic terminations. 
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) from engineering specifications, technical drawings, and other technical documentation.

 Required Qualifications and Skills:

• USN / USMC 2M/MTR training and/or certification
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing high-density, multi-layer circuit boards using tools such as Huntron Probers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret and work from electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, and engineering documentation.
• Experience troubleshooting electronic systems to the component or Lowest Replaceable Unit (LRU) level.
• Skilled in cable fabrication, including soldering multipin copper connectors and terminating fiber optic cables.
• Familiarity with I-Level (Intermediate Level) maintenance practices, particularly in avionics or other military/industrial electronics environments.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, including electrical safety, hazardous material handling, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to generate technical reports and repair documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer use.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

 Desired Qualifications:

• Fiber optic cable termination training and/or certification 
• Copper connector fabrication training and/or certification 
• Practical experience maintaining and troubleshooting AN/BPS-15, AN/BPS-16, SPS-48, SPS-67, SPS-73, SPS-80, BridgeMaster-E (BME) submarine, ship, or USMC surveillance radars using electronic test equipment including, but not limited to multimeters, power meters, and oscilloscopes.  
• Associates degree in technical field, Technical Certification, relevant US Navy NEC, or submarine electronics experience.
