QC Incoming Inspector

Duties

• Perform inspection of incoming components for cosmetics and OTC products utilizing established standards and procedures.
• Create and maintain inspection records and files.
• Assign status (i.e., released/approved, hold, or reject) for incoming components.
• Conduct inspection of incoming component.
• Measure various component characteristics through sample collecting during inspection and make timely decisions.
• Measure various component characteristics against established standards.
• Enter inspection results electronically.
• File completed associated records.
• Capable of performing job functions with minimal supervision.
• Review test methods and manage SOPs based on customer requirements.
• Review and sign the Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) completed by the QC Incoming inspectors.
• Manage the organization of samples provided by the warehouse for inspection in the office.
• Ensure retention and verification of quality documents in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Direct and supervise QC Incoming inspectors.
• Direct and supervise the incoming inspection processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.
• Manage the lead times for incoming inspections: 10 days for items requiring microbiological testing, 2-3 days for items without microbiological testing.
• Communicate with the QC lab regarding microbiological updates and the micro list.
• Oversee and update the retain list and the master standard lis

Skills

• Intermediate math skills.
• Ability to use and/or be trained in the use of measuring equipment such as calipers.
• Ability to read and/or be trained in the reading of component schematics/drawings.
• Computer skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, and other applications as needed.
• Sufficiently speak, read, and write in English to communicate with English-only staff.
• Experience in and knowledge of a cGMP environment is required.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly trainable, and reasonable.
• Must have knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and apply these standards in daily operations to ensure compliance and product quality.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
