Job Description:

The CDL Driver will safely and efficiently deliver finished goods, products, and materials to customers in a timely and professional manner.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• This position requires use of a ramp trailer - loading, strapping and securing loads w/ a Bobcat, according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
• Sleeper Cab and 53' Ramp Trailer/Bobcat Combo
• Pre and post trip inspections required
• Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
• Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals.
• Assists with loading of or loads and unloads goods and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty skids and returns all equipment to designated area.
• Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
• Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to Shipping Supervisor.
• Arranges trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Must hold the required commercial driver's license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.
• Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two years of prior experience as a CDL A driver
• Able to operate a Bobcat

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
• Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
• Manual dexterity as needed to operate equipment.
• Must be able to travel frequently and cross state lines.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant/truck/outdoor elements.
• Must be able to do basic repairs to equipment as neeeded.
• Must be familiar and able to maintain equipment. (Ex. greasing ramp & bobcat daily)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks as a CDL A 53ft Dry Van Driver.
• 6 months of experience operating a bobcat
• You MUST be able to travel interstate routes
• Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Acceptable driving record.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Valid DOT Medical Card/ Must pass pre-employment DOT drug screen.
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Mobility requirements include – sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion of arms and legs.
