Quality Engineer

BASIC PURPOSE: Under general supervision, assists in maintaining quality standards, which meet or exceed our customer's expectations. Control and maintain a basis for Quality assurance, including supervision and documentation of various testing procedures, problem analysis/problem solving activities, and efforts for continuous improvement in methods and quality results.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for meeting quality program goals through meeting program implementation timelines, sample submissions, including the gathering and compiling of all dimensional and certification characteristics or data needed to complete all sample reports.
Provide customer service through scheduled or impromptu customer visitations, timely problem resolution of customer concerns, and permanent corrective action implementation to maximize customer satisfaction.
Oversees the maintenance of all necessary records and current documents for all quality assurance functions. Originates reports as necessary.
Oversees the product evaluation and supplier control processes and supervises the in-house inspection procedures and data analyses to ensure quality compliance.
Participates in Advanced Quality Planning and Continuous Improvement activity to ensure successful launches of new programs and improvements to current production programs.
Maintain all program PPAP records in electronic database.
Facilitate the reviews of in-house, customer defects and warranty returns, and the implementation of corrective actions.
Assist and facilitate creation of visual boundaries.
Perform Layered Process Audits and IATF16949 & ISO14001 Process Audits as required.
All other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS/SCOPE:
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree preferably in engineering or equivalent work experience
3-5 years experience in quality with at least 1-2 years in a Quality
Engineer position
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
ASQ certification
Must be able to work under extreme deadlines
APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, MSA and control planning
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to make sound decisions
Must be able to train others successfully
Able to lead structured problem-solving activity
WORKING CONDITIONS: Occasional exposure to unpleasant working
conditions such as heat, cold, noise, etc. Occasional travel to customer
or supplier locations.
