About the Opportunity
Tax Interview Assistant needed for a unique, client-focused tax & accounting firm. This seasonal position focuses on supporting the intake, organization, and preparation of client information for tax interviews and consultations, ensuring clients have the guidance and clarity they need throughout the tax process. As a growing firm, we are looking for an innovative thinker and organized collaborator who can help structure and implement efficient procedures that enhance workflow, accuracy, and the overall client experience. This position will start the first week of the new year and go until Tax Day: April 15th.
About Us
We are an evolving second-generation boutique accounting firm located in the heart of South End, looking for a dynamic personality to join our growing efforts. We aren't your average accounting firm — we take our work and our client relationships seriously, but we also value a laid-back, upbeat, and personable atmosphere. At Cannon Tax & Accounting, you'll find a friendly environment where professionalism and positive energy go hand-in-hand.
As a small staff, we depend on each other heavily, with every team member playing a significant and unique role in achieving our firm's goals. We work hard, take pride in what we do, and enjoy the process — it's important that you know how to do the same.
About You
You are friendly, flexible, and detail-oriented, with excellent observation skills and the ability to learn quickly on the job. You understand the responsibility of being part of a small, collaborative team and are mature, tactful, and empathetic when communicating with clients about sensitive and confidential financial information. You maintain professionalism and discretion at all times.
You ask thoughtful questions when clarity is needed but are also proactive in trying to find answers on your own first. You can recognize what needs to be done and take initiative with little to no supervision. Like all team members, you're willing to chip in where needed — even if that occasionally includes tasks like office trash removal.
