We are seeking an experienced controls engineer to design, develop, debug, and maintain controls hardware and software for production machines in accordance with project and customer specifications. Competence

Controls Engineer possesses solid organizational skills, a focus on results, and the ability to respond swiftly and coordinate tasks effectively. They are proficient in using both basic and advanced technology tools and software, crucial for executing their duties. While they may assist in leading projects, their role primarily supports team efforts in tackling complex challenges and achieving objectives. Competence in this role is built on relevant education, training, or practical experience that aligns with performance goals.

  • Practical knowledge of electrical design, including the ability to read, interpret and troubleshoot schematics and electrical designs (NFPA and ISO)
  • Proficient and fluent in PC-based Microsoft business software
  • Proficient in collaborating with clients while adhering to project limitations and meeting deadlines
  • Capable of performing effectively in high-pressure environments
  • Good written and oral communication skills with team members and with customers
  • Skilled in collaborating within team settings and autonomously addressing complex technical issues
  • Ability to travel (National and International) ~20%

Qualifications/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering/electro-mechanics or similar
  • Five or more (5+) years of experience with common Industrial Controls platforms working with production equipment in the automation industry
  • Experience with safety PLCs, safety devices and failsafe electrical designs
  • Experience with PLCs & SPLCs – Rockwell, Siemens Required
  • Experience with HMIs – Rockwell, Siemens, Omron, Beckhoff preferred
  • Experience with programming and teaching industrial robots is preferred
  • Experience with machine vision applications - Cognex, Keyence, etc., preferred

Location

This position is based in Alpharetta, GA, USA, with travel throughout the North American region as required.
