Associate - Packing Operator

Job Summary

Works independently and is responsible for the conversion of raw materials into finished goods. Emphasis on safety in the production facility. Responsible to complete production and food safety documentation, escalate deviations from targeted results, and take complete ownership in their equipment including sanitation and production work orders.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Operate the bag filling station to pack powdered materials according to specified recipes.
• Package blended product into bags, following packaging guidelines based on packing specifications.
• Operate bagging equipment efficiently, ensuring proper sealing and labeling of bags.
• Perform required quality checks on packaged products to ensure conformity to standards
• Identify and report any deviations from quality specifications.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address quality concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the blending and packaging processes.
• Adhere to hygiene and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination.
• Clean equipment and workspace after each production run.
• Document blending and bagging processes, including measurements, settings, and any adjustments made during operations.
• Maintain accurate records of production quantities and packaging details.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Participate in safety training programs and promote a safety-first culture.
• Assist other employees in various tasks as directed by supervisors.
• Follow supervisor instructions for additional duties during system downtime, contributing to overall plant efficiency.
• Engage in sanitation activities to ensure a hygienic work environment
• Other duties assigned

Required Skills

• Strong verbal communication and written skills
• Experience with windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
• Detail-oriented and willingness to learn
• Able to confidently operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and scissor lifts.
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain a positive and effective working relationship with other employees
• Ability to treat sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Able to navigate internal system

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and OSHA requirements in an industrial setting.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with all stakeholders of the business in a pleasant, professional manner
• Bi-lingual English / Spanish preferred, not required
• Attention to detail

Working Conditions

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

· Warehouse / production environment

· Open to shift work

• Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building

· Travel- no travel is expected
