Job Summary

Private waste and recycling company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have experience and a strong background with various accounting functions. This role will report to the Controller.

Example Duties:

Accounts Receivable

  • Apply payments and maintain accurate AR records

Account Reconciliation

  • Reconcile accounts on a regular basis
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies

Work Order Closing

  • Review and close work orders in accordance with company policies
  • Verify costs and materials for accuracy
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure completeness and accuracy

Purchase Order Creation

  • Create and process purchase orders for materials and services
  • Track and maintain purchasing documentation
  • Communicate with vendors as needed

Customer Portal Management

  • Upload invoices and supporting documentation for processing
  • Maintain accurate and updated records within portals
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific billing and documentation requirements

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in accounting, finance or related field
  • Experience with software such as QuickBooks and Excel
  • Computer literacy and the ability to learn new computer programs
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.50 per hour
