Key Responsibilities
- Communication Hub: Serve as the primary link between on-site security guards, field teams, and public safety partners, ensuring rapid and accurate information flow.
- Incident Handling: Receive and manage incoming calls for assistance, using effective questioning to gather critical information and coordinating responses with appropriate personnel.
- Dispatch Operations: Operate telecommunication equipment, including phone and two-way radio systems, to dispatch security teams and communicate effectively with officers and public safety.
- Surveillance Monitoring: Utilize multi-site video systems to observe activities, report incidents, and provide real-time support to field officers.
- Incident Documentation: Accurately document all incidents, activities, and officer reports using electronic systems to ensure up-to-date records.
- Safety Assurance: Regularly check in with guards on mobile patrol or stationed at key sites to confirm their safety and provide support as needed.
- Investigative Support: Retrieve video footage and documentation to assist with internal or external investigations as directed by senior management.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in company meetings, training sessions, and other professional development activities to stay informed and engaged.
What You Bring
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to officers, callers, and public safety partners.
- Calm Under Pressure: Ability to remain composed in high-stress situations, effectively managing emergency calls and coordinating swift responses.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with communication equipment (phone systems, two-way radios); comfortable with typing and using computer-based record-keeping systems.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on accuracy and thoroughness in record-keeping, communication, and incident documentation.
- Problem-Solving: Quick-thinking with a proactive approach to assessing situations, gathering relevant information, and making informed decisions.
- Multitasking Ability: Skilled at handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing urgent needs, and ensuring timely response.
- Inclusivity: Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, contributing to a positive and respectful workplace culture.
- Security Knowledge: Understanding of security protocols, emergency response processes, and relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older.
- Background: Completion of a pre-employment drug and background screening.
- Certification: Registration with the NCPPS Board (if applicable).
- Language: Proficiency in English; bilingual skills are an asset.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to maintain 24/7 coverage.
- Status: Full-time, Part-Time, Casual or Relief and Weekend Only employment is available
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Work Setting: Operate primarily within an office environment in the Security Operations Center, handling telecommunication and monitoring systems.
- Physical Demands: Extended periods of sitting, with occasional standing or movement to access equipment or communicate with colleagues.
- Confidentiality: Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols due to potential exposure to sensitive information.
- Safety Standards: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to protect yourself and your team.
