Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic former Theme Park Director and Zoo Director to lead and oversee the operations of a major entertainment and zoological facility. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for visitor experience, animal welfare, and organizational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of industry knowledge, strong management skills, and a background in university-level education to ensure the continued success and growth of the facility.

Duties

  • Provide visionary leadership to all departments, including guest services, animal care, maintenance, marketing, and education programs
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance visitor engagement, safety standards, and operational efficiency
  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure sustainable operations
  • Foster a positive work environment by recruiting, training, and mentoring staff and volunteers
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, animal welfare standards, and legal requirements
  • Cultivate partnerships with community organizations, sponsors, and educational institutions to expand outreach programs
  • Lead marketing initiatives to promote the facility's offerings and special events
  • Monitor industry trends to innovate and improve guest experiences while maintaining high standards of care for animals

Skills

  • Proven leadership experience as a Theme Park or Zoo Director with successful operational oversight
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage staff, visitors, and stakeholders effectively
  • Background in university education or experience in higher education settings is highly desirable
  • Ability to manage budgets, analyze financial reports, and optimize resource use
  • Passion for animal welfare, conservation efforts, and educational outreach
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing industry trends and implement innovative solutions
