Child Care Center Director – MSDE Qualified

Our growing child care center in Clinton, MD, serving 61+ children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, is seeking an MSDE-Qualified Director to lead with excellence. As a combined center with 61+ children, you must meet all MSDE preschool and school-age director qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations, curriculum, and compliance with MSDE regulations
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a dedicated team of educators
- Build strong partnerships with families and the Clinton community
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for every child
Required MSDE Director Qualifications (61+ Capacity, Combined Ages):
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Associate's degree in early childhood education with 15+ semester hours, OR Bachelor's degree in any field
- 90 clock hours of approved school-age coursework (45 developmental + 45 curriculum) OR approved by MSDE as a teacher or director for Kindergarten or grades 1–8 OR hold a teaching certificate from MSDE or any state for kindergarten or grades 1–8
- 90 clock hours of approved early childhood coursework (45 developmental + 45 curriculum) OR CDA OR Nursery–Grade 3 certification
- 2 years of preschool experience in an approved setting OR 1 year if certified to teach
- 800 hours of school-age supervised experience OR 2 years of family child care OR none if certified to teach kindergarten or grades 1–8 by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE)
- 9 hours of communication training
- 3 hours of ADA compliance training
- Regulation training within 6 months of hire
- Infants/toddlers enrolled: 45 hours of infant/toddler coursework + breastfeeding awareness training
- Strong skills in staff management, budgeting, and regulatory compliance
- Must be able to work on-site for at least 50% of the center's operating hours
