As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings. What you'll do
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based psychopharmacological treatments and monitor patient responses to medications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and effective communication.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Perform clinical procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, and administering injections as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.
- Engage in telehealth services to expand access to care for patients in remote locations.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives aimed at advancing psychiatric care practices.
Basic qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner license with a specialization in psychiatric-mental health nursing.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, psychopharmacology, and behavioral health practices.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working with diverse populations, including children and seniors, in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, or assisted living facilities.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and CPT coding for accurate medical billing and documentation.
- Background in acute care or critical care environments, including emergency medicine or ICU experience.
- Skills in case management, discharge planning, and utilization review for comprehensive patient support.
