The Curriculum Editor supports the development, refinement, and finalization of instructional content for CECPD training programs. This role ensures that all curriculum materials meet high standards for clarity, grammar, citation ethics, and instructional alignment. The Editor collaborates with curriculum writers, graphic designers, and other team members throughout the content lifecycle—from initial drafts to productionready materials. The position also contributes to activity development, departmental communications, and classroom training pilots.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct MultiStage Content Reviews

  • Review curriculum drafts at designated checkpoints (4k, 8k, 12k, Final)
  • Assess writing for clarity, grammar, ethical citation, and alignment with learning objectives
  • Use tools such as checklists, EasyBib, and style guides to ensure consistency
  • Participate in Content Review and Production Review meetings to evaluate feedback and guide revisions

2. Review Production Materials for Stylization and Accuracy

  • Edit PowerPoints, Educator Guides, Participant Guides, and activity materials for grammar and formatting
  • Ensure visual and instructional consistency across classroom and online materials

3. Support Activity Development and Piloting

  • Collaborate with curriculum writers to brainstorm, revise, and pilot course activities
  • Participate in Activity Review, Content Review, and Production Review phases
  • Ensure activities are instructionally sound and engaging

4. Edit CECPD and Outreach Materials

  • Assist with editing of materials across CECPD teams
  • Review flyers, letters, rubrics, handouts, and internal documents for grammar, parallelism, and clarity
    Ensure consistency in tone, formatting, and instructional alignment for public- facing and internal communications

5. Collaborate Across Departments and Support Curriculum Pilots

  • Partner with other departments to review and refine instructional documents for style and continuity
    Co- facilitate Full Course Pilots for educators, including event setup, advertising, and training delivery
  • Maintain the PDAS Library, including historical course records and reference materials for curriculum development

This position is located in Moore, Oklahoma.

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, AND:

  • 24 months of experience related to the essential duties.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of experience.

Skills:

  • Strong editing and proofreading skills with attention to grammar, clarity, and instructional tone
  • Familiarity with citation tools and style guides (e.g., EasyBib, APA/MLA formats)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Comfort with iterative review processes and feedback integration
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Physical: Sit for prolonged periods. Ability to engage in repetitive motions. Communicate effectively.
  • Environmental: Standard Office Environment. Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
