Core Responsibilities

  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct routine safety inspections and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs); facilitate the Joint EHS Committee; and ensure strict compliance with OSHA/CSA standards.
  • Environmental Management: Maintain the ISO 14001 system; manage all required environmental permits, reporting, and documentation; and coordinate the storage and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Training & Response: Develop and deliver mandatory EHS training for all employees (including new hires), and coordinate emergency response procedures and drills.
  • Workers' Comp: Administer the site's Workers' Compensation program, ensuring accurate tracking and recordkeeping for all cases.
  • Recordkeeping: Ensure all EHS recordkeeping and regulatory reporting requirements are met.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide EHS input on new processes and analyze data to drive continual improvement in workplace safety metrics.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: A degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • EHS Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA (or state/provincial standards) and ISO 14001.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience: Knowledge of and experience administering a Workers' Compensation program.
  • Canadian Operations: Must possess or complete WSIB/IAPA Part I & Part II Certification Training
  • Salary- $70,000-$80,000/Year
