Metal Products Company provides a high-volume, low-cost source for gauge metal stampings to serve the requirements of the plumbing, electrical, masonry and general construction trades.

Metal Products Company has been a precision metal stamping company since 1987. We specialize in short, medium and long run metal stampings with an emphasis on quality and timely order completions.

With presses ranging up to 100 ton, Metal Products has the necessary equipment to handle your stamping requirements.

Job Summary

We're looking for a skilled machine operator to safely and efficiently operate a punch press. A great Punch Press Operator is reliable, able to work with attention to detail, and works effectively alone as well as in a team. Press Operators will be mostly running a press alone after training is complete but some jobs will require a team to complete.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Set up machines to start a production cycle
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed) for optimal output
  • Set up raw material or parts to feed into semi-automated machines
  • Quality Inspect parts according provided specifications
  • Load and set up un-coilers
  • Label and box parts coming directly out of the punch press
  • Troubleshoot issues that might occur during the shift
  • Regularly check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Keep accurate production counts and enter them into time system
  • Clean up work area at the end of each work day

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is a plus
  • Experience as a machine operator is a plus
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations

Physical Demands

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day
  • Recurring bending, and squatting
  • Use hands for simple grasping, push/pull, and fine manipulation

Mental or Visual Demands

This position requires operators to have continuous mental and/or visual attention; the work is either repetitive or diversified requiring constant alertness to monitor the production process and/or identify defects; or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.
