Overview

CIT Rail is looking for motivated future leaders beginning their careers to join CIT Rail's internship program. CIT Rail, a leading provider of leasing and financial services to the rail industry, is now a division of First Citizens Bank.

Our interns will apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while making a positive impact across the organization and the communities we serve. The program is designed to develop high potential associates into future leaders by providing them with learning, development and foundational knowledge about our business and industry. CIT Rail provides leasing and equipment financing solutions to rail carriers and shippers in a wide range of industries. Our solutions provide access to efficient transportation capacity that helps our customers preserve capital and build flexibility into their transportation portfolios.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Focus on projects analyzing and summarizing business performance data, improving usability of management reports, and identifying best practice trends.Participate in projects with other Rail groups, potentially Business Intelligence, Mechanical/Maintenance, Structured Finance, Business Process Implementation, Customer Service and Risk.Be part of a dynamic team with interesting projects. Projects can include areas such as research, analytics, strategy, process review and improvement, and technology enhancements and support.Be assigned a project, designed to improve a specific process or solve a problem that you will present at the close of the internship. This project may include working individually or with a team of internsPrepare a wrap-up presentation to be shared with the division leader and other key stakeholders in the company to outline your accomplishments and experience during the internship

Additional Details:

Each associate will work across the Rail organization to build skills through tangible experiences within a leading equipment finance organization.Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking and community service events.Have a dedicated manager and program manager to help you navigate the bank and the internship program.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience

* Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer program)

* Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program

Preferred qualifications:

* Rising Seniors (May '27 Grad) with a BA/BS/BBA degree. Business, Finance and/or Data Analytics concentration

* 3.0 GPA or higher

* Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, etc.)

* Experience and/or interest in analytical tools such as querying (SQL) and business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau)

* Strong desire to learn and grow

* Possess a positive attitude, naturally curious and enjoy collaborating with others

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Critical thinking skills

* Ability to adapt and adjust priorities based on business needs

* Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $20.57/hr - $24.20/hr. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
