Kay 5 supports patients who are diagnosed with solid tumors or neuro-oncology disorders. Be a part of groundbreaking cell therapies or antibody infusions that work to improve outcomes in this patient population. Kay 5 is a 17-bed unit that offers small nurse to patient ratios.  Come join a prestigious nursing team who provides the highest quality of care, every day 

This is a night shift position seeking nurses with at least one year of experience.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's of Nursing required.
  • For Internal St Jude employees only: Will consider Associate degree on career path to BSN; BSN required within 3 years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), required. Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS, preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • 0-17 months prior experience preferred.
  • Basic pediatric assessment, critical thinking, and pain assessment skills.
  • Familiarity with research protocols, preferred.
  • Strong clinical nursing, interpersonal and patient education skills.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on the assigned unit.
  • Knowledge of the principles of growth and development for all ages served.
  • Ability to assess and interpret age specific data about the patient's status.
  • Proven performance in earlier role.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:

  • (LC: RN-TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state.
  • (LC: RN-ARK or RN-MISS) Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:

  • Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON) preferred.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $ $55.00 per hour for the role of Pediatric Oncology Nurse I: K5 nights.
