Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Director leads the overall care, upkeep, and presentation of our 130,000+ square foot private club. This leader ensures every space, from the dining rooms to the tennis courts to the back hallways, meets the Sweetwater Standard: safe, functional, and ready for members to enjoy. It's a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in excellence, organization, and proactive problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and schedule the maintenance and housekeeping teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
  • Oversee all facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and general building maintenance.
  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and vendor relationships with accountability for timeliness and cost control.
  • Partner closely with the GM and department heads to prioritize maintenance requests and support capital improvement projects.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Support renovation and improvement projects with a focus on long-term sustainability and the member experience.
  • Monitor inventory, track expenses, and stay within approved budgets.

Members walk into a clean, well-maintained club that reflects pride and professionalism. The maintenance team runs like clockwork, staying proactive rather than reactive. Systems work seamlessly, issues are solved quickly, and communication with department leaders is consistent and clear.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 3+ years of experience in facilities management or maintenance leadership (hospitality, club, resort, or multi-unit environment preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead a team with empathy, structure, and accountability.
  • Strong technical understanding of building systems and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Organized, reliable, and skilled at balancing multiple priorities without losing focus on details.
  • A servant leader who takes initiative, models integrity, and contributes to a positive club culture.
