Overview

The Floor Care Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various flooring types in commercial and institutional settings. This position involves performing specialized cleaning tasks to ensure that floors are well-maintained, safe, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will have experience in floor care techniques and a strong commitment to quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough cleaning of various floor surfaces, including tile, carpet, and hardwood.
  • Perform carpet cleaning using appropriate methods and equipment.
  • Execute strip and waxing, scrub and recoating, and buffing of floors to enhance their shine and longevity.
  • Maintain janitorial duties as needed, including dusting, mopping, and waste disposal.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Respond positively and promptly to customer work orders.

Skills

  • Proven experience in cleaning and floor care.
  • Knowledge of carpet cleaning methods and equipment operation.
  • Familiarity with buffing machines and floor maintenance practices.
  • Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred.
  • Reliable. Must possess the ability to adhere to Company policies on a timeyy and consistent basis.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, stoop, twist, reach, pull, push, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to be on your feet for an entire shift (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to drive a vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
