Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dispatcher to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of freight while maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and familiarity with various transportation management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily dispatch operations to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to optimize routing and enhance efficiency.
  • Input and maintain accurate data in transportation management systems, including Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams using multi-line phone systems.
  • Analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with supply chain partners to facilitate seamless logistics operations.
  • Handle shipping and receiving tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor fleet management activities to ensure vehicle readiness and compliance with regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through effective phone etiquette and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dispatching or logistics roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with transportation planning, freight operations, and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in data entry and analysis skills to support operational decision-making.
  • Knowledge of 3PL operations is a plus.
  • Strong typing skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders.
