Job Description
Turner & Townsend is seeking to appoint a Senior Commercial Manager to work on exciting Rail Infrastructure developments. The Senior Commercial Manager will play a key role in delivering value, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring project profitability and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial strategy and execution across all phases of rail construction projects.
- Manage and mentor commercial teams including Quantity Surveyors and Contract Administrators.
- Oversee procurement processes, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, legal requirements, and company policies.
- Prepare and present commercial reports to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Support claims management, dispute resolution, and final account settlements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and external partners to ensure commercial success.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, and other standard forms of contract.
- Expertise in cost control, procurement, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical, financial, and commercial acumen.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in commercial software (e.g., CATO, CostX, SAP, Oracle).
Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Chartered status (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of commercial experience in large-scale infrastructure or rail projects.
- Proven track record in managing multi-million-dollar contracts and commercial teams.
