Job Title: Maintenance General Specialist

Job Summary:

Performs routine, repetitive, and basic tasks where precedent, methods and processes are well established associated with assembling/repairing and moving furniture. Assists with weekly moves, plumbing, or associated work on plant facilities using hand and power tools. May be required to troubleshoot equipment or facilities problems and reports them to supervisor. Must be well organized and able to self-manage. Moderate understanding of general job aspects and superficial understanding of the technical phases of the job. Makes simple decisions but refers technical questions to more experienced personnel. Must be eligible to obtain a DOD security clearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform office moves, furniture moves and reconfigure, cubicle set up, move and reconfigure

Use of basic carpentry skills; including but not limited to framing, drywall, tape/mud finishing, texture, painting etc. Basic knowledge of frame/door/closure/hardware installation.

Work orders system experience a plus.

Assist in repair and adjust equipment as required to return equipment to proper operating condition, especially office furniture

Warehouse duties/organization/inventory management.

Snow removal activities.

Qualifications:

Education

High School diploma, Vocational School a plus

Business Experience

2 to 6 years prior experience in facilities

Language Skills

English

Technical Qualifications & Skills

Furniture assembly

Carpentry skills a plus

Facilities maintenance a plus

Basic computer skills

Read and interpret blueprint/drawings a plus

Basic knowledge of hand tools and wood working tools a plus
