Installation Made Easy ("IME") provides software and process management that enable retailers and contractors to offer installed home improvements to homeowners in a convenient, consistent, and affordable manner. IME senior management has over 100 years of retail management and home improvement industry experience.

The Software Engineering Manager position is responsible for one or multiple development team's support of IME's Web Applications. The Manager will work with the development team's engineers, QA, project and product managers, staff, and business stakeholders to gather specifications for enhancement and support requests, lead the technical tasks, and execute the delivery of the requests. The manager is ultimately responsible for the team's outcomes. These outcomes include sprint grooming, planning, and execution of individual deliverables as well as all processes used by the team in coordination with the organization. This is an exciting opportunity that will require obtaining in-depth knowledge of the business and the internally developed ERP based software.

An ideal candidate for this role will be able to listen to specification requests from stakeholders, understand the business objectives, propose solutions, plan the execution, and deliver on the plan. The candidate must be able to work independently in a remote environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage one or multiple agile development team(s) for the enhancements and maintenance of web applications.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor software engineers in the following areas: daily tasks, career growth, goals, objectives, and performance reviews.
  • Have full ownership of the team's execution and delivery of the areas of responsibility.
  • Lead projects through the development lifecycle adhering to best practices for planning, executing, and delivering software applications.
  • Assess the technology platform to ensure performance, reliability, availability, security, and costs are optimized and propose adjustments when needed.
  • Employ the Agile development methodology and modern DevOps capabilities (continuous integration, automated build & deploy, and automated testing processes.
  • Seek consensus across the organization for proposed solutions to architectural application and database designs by the team.
  • Work closely with the executives, business owners, and product management to develop, prioritize, and communicate functional requirements.
  • Participate in critical production situations for your team's area of ownership.
  • Document and maintain web UI content requirements if needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Ability to lead teams on small & medium sized projects.
  • 10+ years experience in web application development using the following:
  • C# and full MS Stack development
  • .NET and .NET Core frameworks
  • MVC frameworks
  • UI & JS Frameworks (React, Angular, jquery)
  • Client/Server technologies
  • SQL Servers, SSMS and stored procedures
  • Cloud-native patterns; familiarity with Azure, Amazon, or Google Cloud
  • RESTful Services
  • High performance and scalable systems
  • HTML/CSS/SCSS
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Self-directed and motivated.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organization skills
  • Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Azure DevOps
  • GIT
  • DevExpress

  • Umbraco or other CMS

  • React

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
