Dance Instructor

SoCa Arts is looking for a fun, outgoing dance instructors to teach blocks of classes afternoons in Irvine & surrounding areas (days & locations below) to join our amazing team of instructors. We are lucky to have most instructors stay for several years some even over 8 years.

Job to start December 1st w/ paid training & recital with team of 30 staff, break for holidays then classes start first week of January. *Please be sure this schedule works for you to start block of classes for January through May and train before session starts before applying. Most staff continue to work in summer but optional. Email if questions on dates.

Classes are blocked in 3-5 classes back to back at these locations. Recitals in December & May each year.

Currently hiring for Irvine Tues &/or Thursdays, Newport Tuesdays, or Aliso Viejo Tuesdays (all afternoons starting at 3:30 for 3-4 class block)

Per class base pay listed in post as well as bonus each quarter. Additional pay for choreography and recital work.

Ideal candidate will have:

-experience with dance (jazz, ballet, hip hop) - intermediate level. K-Pop is a bonus but training if needed.

-experience with teaching children or working with children ages 3-12 (or some ages in between)

-Upbeat, outgoing and fun personality *most important

-Ability to work independently

-Extremely responsible and organized

-Excellent communication skills with students and adults

-must have own transportation

-values integrity in their company and work

-professional & engaging

Ideally dance instructor will remain with company for long term with opportunities to teach more blocks and/or camps in future but not required.

Responsibilities

- Implement engaging dance curriculum for students at beginner level.

- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.

- Utilize strong communication skills to interact with students, parents, and staff members.

- Incorporate creative elements such as music, costumes, and props to enhance dance lessons.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $31.00 per hour
