Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled light duty Tow Truck Driver to join our team. Must live close to Round Lake area. A CDL is a plus, we are willing to train the right person on our medium duty and heavy duty trucks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional roadside assistance, towing vehicles safely, and delivering outstanding customer service. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to handle various towing situations with professionalism and efficiency. We provide towing service to multiple police agencies so the candidate must have a clean driving record, be able to pass a background check, live close to the area we provide services, and able to take a commercial truck home for the on-call nights.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other types of towing vehicles, to transport disabled or improperly parked vehicles.
  • Conduct automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle conditions before towing.
  • Load and unload vehicles safely and securely, ensuring minimal risk of damage.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their needs and the towing process.
  • Manage conflict situations calmly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on tow trucks to ensure they are in safe working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and vehicle conditions during each tow.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive systems and diagnostics.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Experience driving tow trucks, including flatbed models, is preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts as needed for loading and unloading tasks.
  • Conflict management skills to handle difficult situations with poise.
  • Proficient in loading and unloading vehicles safely while adhering to safety protocols.
