Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cable Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and field service, with expertise in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various cable systems. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently in diverse environments.

Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair cable systems for residential and commercial clients.
  • Perform fiber splicing and ensure proper connectivity for telecommunication services.
  • Utilize tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to test electrical connections and troubleshoot issues.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of cable installations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients regarding service needs and updates.
  • Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to complete installations efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to computer networking and telecommunications.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in field service or as a service technician within the telecommunications industry.
  • Proficient in fiber splicing techniques and the use of testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
  • Strong understanding of computer networking principles and electrical systems.
  • Ability to telecommunicate effectively with clients to address their needs promptly.
  • Familiarity with hand tools required for installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments.
  • Valid driver's license may be required for travel to job sites.
