The Position
Our client is a well-regarded climate non-profit. They are seeking a senior legal advisor to serve as their sole counsel. Focus areas and responsibilities include:
- Building out legal infrastructure, leading risk management, compliance and policy and ethics initiatives
- Developing and delivering legal training to non-legal staff and leadership
- Providing contract oversight and repository build out
- Managing compliance and providing guidance on 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofit regulations and IRS rules
This counsel will be instrumental in building out legal infrastructure from the ground up. Candidates must be licensed in CA, have prior GC level experience, and experience advising 501(c)(3) / 501(c)(4) organizations. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and building systems from scratch.
Targeting an ASAP start for an ongoing duration, 15-20 hours per week. This role is hybrid and requires 3-4 days onsite per month in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $125 and $137 This range is an estimate; an employee's compensation will be based on the employee's qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
