Job Title: Principal Enterprise Architect – Full Stack Cloud
Location: Hybrid – Columbus, OH (Onsite Tuesday and Wednesday; Remote Monday, Thursday, and Friday)
Duration: 6/16/2025 – 6/15/2026 (Possibility of Extension)
Rate: $75 – $85/hour (Based on experience)
Contract Type: W-2 only (U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders only; no C2C or sponsorship)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Enterprise Architect with deep expertise in full stack Cloud architecture to support enterprise-wide technology modernization initiatives at a utilities client. This role requires a strong technical foundation across cloud-native technologies, infrastructure, and security, along with the ability to guide enterprise strategy and collaborate cross-functionally.
The selected candidate will report to the Head of Architecture and work across Infrastructure, Application Development, Security, Data & Analytics, and PMO teams. A skills assessment will be required as part of the evaluation process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level architectural leadership with a focus on cloud strategy, infrastructure modernization, automation, and enterprise-scale architecture planning
- Lead the development of architecture blueprints, roadmaps, and high-level solution designs aligned to business strategy
- Define and maintain standards for cloud services, automation practices, and secure runtime environments
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to guide platform migration, hybrid deployments, and modernization efforts
- Facilitate architectural review boards and lead governance processes around solution design and exception handling
- Partner with security and infrastructure teams to ensure scalable, compliant, and cloud-native solutions
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and recommend their adoption across appropriate business areas
- Mentor and guide other architects in the organization, fostering knowledge sharing and consistent practices
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of enterprise architecture experience, including direct experience leading cloud initiatives in large organizations
- Proven experience with both on-premise and cloud environments, especially Azure and AWS
- Strong background in cloud architecture, automation, infrastructure as code, and network design
- Familiarity with hybrid IT environments and on-prem to cloud migrations
- Deep understanding of API-first design, modern runtime environments, and DevOps/Infrastructure tooling
- Experience with tools and platforms such as:
- Azure compute products, Cisco, Docker, Equinix, Kubernetes, Microsoft solutions, Mulesoft, Palo Alto, ServiceNow, VMWare
- Demonstrated ability to operate across technology domains, including application, security, infrastructure, and data
- Experience working within regulated industries or utility environments is a plus
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of architecture capability areas, including:
- Cloud Services, Infrastructure as Code, Security, API Management, End User Computing, Unified Communications, Automation, Runtime Environments, Service Operations
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with LeanIX, TOGAF, and ITIL frameworks
- Excellent communication and consulting skills with both technical and business stakeholders
- Proficiency in documentation and visualization using tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (required)
- Certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF) are strongly preferred
