Medical assistants are essential members of a ​patient-​centered ​medical team.

Our medical assistants are cross-trained to perform both front and back-office duties.

General knowledge of various medical procedures, views, and equipment.

Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Compenent and validated in basic Medical Assisting skills while being HIPPA compliant.

Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionaly to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.

Clinical Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Scrub medical charts for gaps in care
• Process and follow up on referrals
• Take medical histories and vital signs
• Explaining treatment procedures to patients and obtain signed consent forms
• Preparing patients for examinations
• Assisting the physician during examinations as required by clinician
• Collecting, labeling, and preparing laboratory specimens
• Instructing patients about medication, supplements and peptides, clarifying clinician's plan
• Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
• Transmitting prescription refills as directed
• Taking electrocardiograms
• Patient guidance with our In-Body machine
• Dispense onsite medications, supplements and peptides per clinician instructions
• Clean, disinfect and restock treatment rooms

Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):

• Document requests for refills in our EHR system
• Document referrals and follow up in our EHR system
• Answering telephones
• Triage patient calls for assigned clinician
• Welcoming patients
• Scheduling appointments
• Arranging for follow up appointments

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

· Completion of a formal and accredited Medical Assistant program

· Current CPR certification required

Experience:

1+ years of medical assistant experience preferred

· Previous experience working in an outpatient clinic or doctor's office preferred

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, non-exempt, 40 hours per week. Days and hours vary depending on clinic coverage needs. We are open Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Schedules will be determined by the clinic manager and may be subject to changes.
