Duties

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing clear explanations of vehicle issues and recommended repairs
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and identify necessary repairs using automotive diagnostic tools
  • Manage service writing duties, including creating detailed estimates and communicating repair plans effectively
  • Perform or oversee a variety of repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, alignments, suspension work, shocks & struts, transmission repairs, diesel engine repairs, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
  • Upsell additional services and maintenance based on customer needs while maintaining transparency and integrity
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and process invoices efficiently
  • Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintain high-quality standards

Skills

  • Proven dealership or shop experience with automotive service management and customer service skills
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, oil changes, alignments, tires, shocks & struts, diesel engines, air brakes, and auto body repair
  • Skilled in automotive diagnostics and repair techniques with mechanic experience preferred
  • Ability to perform auto estimating and write detailed service reports; familiarity with auto estimating software is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining technical issues clearly to customers
  • Sales-oriented mindset with experience in upselling services and automobile sales
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures and maintaining accurate records
  • Familiarity with automotive repair standards and safety protocols
