Simple Laboratories is looking for a Part time Medical Courier / Driverfor one of our fleet vehicles toserve in an integral role in our multidepartment testing area. This position supports the phlebotomy department by collecting their specimens after collection from varying locations. The specimens need to be delivered to the laboratory in a timely manner to ensure results are relayed to the clients as soon as possible.

Work Shift (Evening): Monday - Sunday | 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM | Fleet vehicle only.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather supplies to distribute to phlebotomists as needed.
  • Pick up and properly deliver specimens to specified lab.
  • Provide courier services as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch team on route and current pickups.
  • Follow all fleet vehicle safety and policy guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Clean driver's license and current liability insurance.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to follow directives and work independently.
  • Reliable and responsible to hold oneself accountable.
  • Team player who works well with others.
  • Proficient in using a smart phone.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess a passion towards safety and providing optimal customer service.

Specifications and Conditions:

Overall Strength Demands: Sedentary strength demands include occasionally exerting up to 15 pounds or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.

Physical Demands: Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking. Frequently involves standing, walking, fine dexterity, sitting, and handling. Occasionally requires lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching. Rarely requires climbing.

Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids: Telephone, calculator, printer, facsimile, copier, and binding machine.

Weather Conditions: Awareness of climatic conditions in Midwest (E.g. cold, wet, snow at times).
