About the Role:

The Field Service position in the wholesale trade industry is a critical role focused on delivering exceptional on-site support and maintenance services to our clients in Sioux Falls. The primary objective is to ensure that all equipment and systems provided by the company operate efficiently and reliably, minimizing downtime and maximizing customer satisfaction. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of technical products and machinery in diverse environments. The Field Service professional will act as the company's representative in the field, building strong relationships with customers through effective communication and timely service delivery. Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience in field service, technical support, or equipment maintenance roles.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems relevant to wholesale trade equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or certification in electronics, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working in the wholesale trade industry or with similar equipment types.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software used in field service operations.
  • Strong customer service skills with a track record of building positive client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a mobile work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems according to company standards and client requirements.
  • Diagnose technical issues using specialized tools and equipment, and implement effective solutions to restore functionality.
  • Provide detailed service reports and documentation after each visit, ensuring accurate records of work performed and parts used.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients to explain technical issues, maintenance procedures, and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex problems and coordinate timely resolution to minimize client downtime.
  • Manage inventory of service parts and tools to ensure readiness for field assignments.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while working in various client environments.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Field Service professional to efficiently diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site, ensuring equipment operates at peak performance. Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge is applied daily to interpret schematics and perform repairs accurately. Communication skills are essential for explaining complex technical information to clients in an understandable manner and for documenting service activities clearly.
