Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Engineer specializing in EDA (Electronic Design Automation) for Semiconductor Design Enablement. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the development, verification, and optimization of complex electronic systems, including FPGA, SoC, PCB, and electrical systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of semiconductor technology, utilizing advanced CAD tools and engineering principles to enable innovative design solutions. The role requires a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering, along with proficiency in scripting and system design to facilitate seamless project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize CAD models and schematics for electronic components using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
  • Support FPGA and SoC design workflows by integrating SystemVerilog, Python, C++, MATLAB, and scripting languages like Perl.
  • Perform root cause analysis on design issues related to electrical systems, firmware, and signal processing to ensure robust system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on system design, project scheduling, and manufacturing processes including surface mount technology and soldering techniques.
  • Assist in the development of PCB layouts and schematic diagrams adhering to NEC standards and industry best practices.
  • Utilize vision inspection systems, Ohmmeters, and other electrical testing tools for quality assurance during manufacturing.
  • Contribute to debugging hardware and firmware issues related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM architectures, Arduino platforms, and quantum engineering applications.
  • Support system integration efforts involving electrical systems, mechanical knowledge, surface mount technology (SMT), and microelectronics fabrication processes.
  • Document design specifications and technical procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and project continuity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks; familiarity with schematic capture software is essential.
  • Strong understanding of FPGA development using SystemVerilog; experience with PCB design is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python, C++, MATLAB, Perl; scripting experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems design including schematics creation, surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and electrical testing equipment like Ohmmeters.
  • Experience with signal processing, firmware development, debugging hardware/firmware issues, and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards such as NEC; understanding of microelectronics fabrication processes is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex electronic or mechanical issues; excellent problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience in project scheduling; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
